Our learning support assistants are Mrs Mann and Mrs Joel.
What will you need in school?
Everyday you will need the following equipment in school:
- correct uniform and shoes/sports trainers
- a named water bottle (filled with water please)
- a named snack for break time (fruit or breadsticks)
Home learning in Year 3:
In the Juniors, you will be set home learning tasks each week for reading spelling, numeracy and times tables.
We expect you to read five times each week with an adult, who should sign your reading record.
Books will be sent home from school for you to read and discuss with an adult. Your adult should ask you at least three questions about your reading, each time you read. Re-read the book before you bring it back to school. It is your responsibility to change your reading books regularly. Returned books must be placed in the Year 3 Quarantine Box located in the Year 3 corridor.
Reading records should be brought to school every Friday, where they will be checked.
Each week we will learn a new spelling rule and the words on the home learning list will conform to that rule.
Spellings are given out on a Tuesday and are tested the following Tuesday.
Numeracy home learning will always consolidate the class learning of the week.
Numeracy home learning is given out on a Friday and must be completed and brought back to school the following Friday.
Times Tables Practice
You should practise your times tables for at least 10 minutes each day. We expect a minimum of 30 minutes per week. You can use Times Table Rock Stars or any other times table practise games.
Year 3 have PE on a Monday.
