There has been a huge amount of work going on behind the scenes at Holly Lodge over the last few months, to prepare us for joining The Kite Academy Trust. The trust is currently formed of five local schools, Cross Farm Infant School, Lakeside Primary School, Mytchett Primary School, Sandringham Infant School and The Grove Primary School.
We are very much looking forward to the opportunities that joining The Kite will afford us. The collaboration and sharing of best practice between the schools and the opportunity to shout about our own successes are already being enjoyed, with staff training and meetings shared between the schools in the group.
As part of joining the Kite Academy, we recently invited all of the Holly Lodge children to design a kite which represents and celebrates Holly Lodge. There was a fantastic response to the competition, which made it incredibly difficult to choose only one winner. In the end we decided to combine, two designs and one set of key words to form the final design. Our congratulations to Mia Court (6T) and Charlie Osmond (4S) whose designs have been combined on the kite, the words were inspired by Isabella Bradley’s (3K) entry.
On Thursday 1st December we legally became part of The Kite Academy Trust and celebrated with a tea party, to which each of the member schools were invited. This was a fantastic opportunity to applaud this historic occasion for Holly Lodge.
